Delayed Onset Of Muscle Soreness or DOMS, as it's commonly known, is the pain, soreness and/or stiffness felt in the body after performing an exercise you're not used to.

For example;

  • Doing an exercise you haven't done before

  • Coming back to exercise after taking time off

The soreness is usually felt 24 - 72 hours after exercise.
